Services for Children
Our goal is to promote and encourage development of language and communication in all children with hearing loss. If developing listening skills and spoken language are the family's goals, we aim to make speech as audible and accessible as possible for the child. We fit the most current digital hearing aids with research-supported pediatric protocols. In a child-friendly atmosphere, we counsel families and provide advocacy for their children. We collaborate with other professionals and agencies in our area, including physicians, early intervention service providers, speech-language pathologists, and school personnel. Our family-centered focus is evident throughout the entire process - from initial hearing evaluation and diagnosis to the hearing aid fit and beyond.
Aspects of our pediatric hearing services:
- All of our audiologists have extensive experience with pediatrics and are state-licensed and nationally-certified.
- We work with most insurance plans, including Medicaid, Children's Mercy, Unicare, TriWest, and most private insurance plans.
- Full funding for hearing aids for children who have never owned hearing aids is available through a grant from Children's Miracle Network. We are the only facility in the area that can access this source of funding.
- Loaner hearing aids are available for children to wear when their own hearing aids are being repaired.
