Assessment and Evaluation
Any concerned person interested in the healthcare and well-being of another may make a referral to Via Christi Home Health. Many referrals come from doctors, friends, family, clergy, hospitals or patients.
Private Duty (TLC) Services
TLC is a private pay program for homemaking and attendant care services including light housekeeping, meal preparation, grocery shopping, personal care and simple companionship. If you do not qualify for insurance coverage (ie. not home bound), private duty nursing can also be arranged for medication management, assessment, etc.
Cost of Services
Medicare covers services for persons 65 years or older or on disability, who require highly-skilled care.
Medicaid will cover persons eligible for medical assistance based on income guidelines. Private insurance will provide assistance for persons with home health or private duty nursing coverage.
For individuals who do not qualify for the above or who have exhausted any of those forms of reimbursement, private pay arrangements can be made. Fees are based on the person's ability to pay.
No one is denied service due to inability to pay. Via Christi Hospital Pittsburg provides financial assistance to individuals in need. Additionally, grants for homemaking and attendant care services are available through the Senior Care Act and Area Agency on Aging programs.
A registered nurse is on call 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Care is prescribed and monitored by each patient's personal physician.
