Via Christi Pittsburg offers Medical, Prescription and Dental insurance to employees. The cost depends upon the plan and coverage chosen. Certain restrictions or provisions may apply.
Via Christi Pittsburg provides Basic Employee Life insurance for employees. The amount is one times annual salary or a minimum of $10,000. Employees have the option to increase the amount of life insurance through the Optional Employee Life insurance benefit at an added cost to the employee. Via Christi Pittsburg also offers Optional Dependent Life insurance, which an employee may purchase for spouse and/or children at an added cost to the employee.
Accidental Death & Dismemberment
VCHP provides Basic AD&D at no cost to the employee. The amount is one times annual salary or a minimum of $10,000. Employees have the option to increase the amount of AD&D through the Optional Accidental Death & Dismemberment benefit at an added cost to the employee.
LTD is available to employees after completing one year of continuous employment at a full-time status (32-40 hours). Since LTD is optional, the employee pays the premium.
Flexible Spending Accounts
Flex allows employees to set aside money on a pre-tax basis to help pay for eligible health and dependent care expenses. An employee can be reimbursed up to $5,000 of eligible expenses that are not paid by any group medical plan. A full-time employee may use the dependent flex account to be reimbursed for up to $5,000 in eligible dependent care expenses.
Via Christi Pittsburg provides a Paid Time Off Plan for eligible employees that combines paid time off available to an employee into a "PTO account" allowing for greater flexibility and individual management of earned time. The earned time can be used for vacation, holidays, personal and family business or other reasons deemed appropriate and in compliance with plan provisions. The amount of the accrual is based upon Years of Service and worked hours and begins with the employee's date of hire. Supervisor approval is need for time off except in cases of emergency. An employee may begin using PTO 90 days after continuous employment.
Short-Term Illness Protection
Via Christi Pittsburg provides a Short-Term Illness Protection Plan designed to provide eligible employees with paid time off related to personal medical condition. The amount of the accrual begins with the employee's date of hire, but it cannot be used until after the completion of one year of continuous employment.
VCHP provides employees with a non-contributory defined benefit pension account. Employees do not contribute to this account. Contributions are made to the account as long as the employee works 1,000 hours per year. To become 100% vested an employee must earn five vesting years. A vesting year is gained once an employee has worked a minimum of 1,000 hours. VCHP also offers a voluntary, contributory retirement account that is set up through VCHP's Tax Sheltered Annuity Representative. VCHP provides a matching contribution into the TSA after one year of continuous employment.
VCHP offers employees and dependents a medical discount for Medical Center services provided after the date of hire.
VCHP recreational discounts on tickets to Silver Dollar City, White Water and Worlds of Fun.
Full time employees receive three (3) days or 24 hours of paid bereavement leave. Part-time employees receive one (1) day or 8 hours of paid bereavement leave. These days must be taken during the seven (7) consecutive days after the death of an immediate family member.
Educational Assistance Program
VCHP offers employees an educational assistance program that reimburses employees for a percentage of tuition costs related to enrollment in courses that may or may not result in a degree, registration, certification or licensure; or, related to continuing education units/credits in order to maintain license, certification or registration. The continuing education reimbursement program is for employees who need Continuing Education Units (CEU) or who take courses that are job-related. In order to be eligible for the continuing education reimbursement program, an employee must have completed one (1) year of service. The Grant Employment Agreement Program is available to those employees who have completed one (1) year of service and are enrolled in courses that will result in a degree, certification, registration or licensure. The amount of reimbursement depends upon employment status and the cost of tuition. VCHP also offers scholarships from various organizations, as well as scholarships for certain healthcare fields.
Every year VCHP recognizes those employees who have worked 5, 10, 15, 20, 25 and 30+ years at the Service Awards Banquet.
