Brandon Riesenmy, MD attended undergraduate school at the University of Missouri-Kansas City and obtained his medical degree from the University of Kansas in 1987. He completed his residency in Psychiatry at the University of Kansas Medical School and served as faculty there until 1999. Dr. Riesenmy treats patients of all ages. Dr. Riesenmy is currently providing mental health care services at Via Christi Behavioral Health on a part-time basis.
Vera Vitt, ARNP, MSN, RN, CNS attended Pittsburg State University for her BSN. She obtained her Master's degree in Nursing at Wichita State University in 2000. As a clinical specialist and an advanced registered nurse practitioner, Vera provides mental health services consisting of psychiatric evaluations and pharmacological management.
Rebecca Honeycutt, MS, LCP completed her graduate degree in Clinical Psychology at Pittsburg State University. She worked on the Behavioral Health Unit at Mt. Carmel Regional Medical Center from August of 1998 until she transferred to Via Christi Behavioral Health in 2007. Rebecca received clinical training in outpatient psychotherapy at Crawford County Mental Health Center and at Four County Mental Health Center. Currently, Rebecca provides individual and family psychotherapy and psychological assessment. Her clinical interests include depression, adjustment disorders, and working with children and adolescents.
Marian Smith, PhD completed her doctorate in Clinical Psychology at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Smith has a clinical specialty in health psychology following her training in rehabilitation psychology and neuropsychology. With additional degrees in recreation and counseling, she believes in understanding and treating patients in a holistic manner. Dr. Smith's clinical interests include assessment of cognitive change/decline, adjustment to disability, biofeedback, and weight-related concerns. She also provides individual and family psychotherapy to adults and children.
Jeffrey Burch, PsyD completed his doctorate at the University of Indianapolis in the field of Clinical Psychology. During his clinical training, he received experience working on an acute inpatient psychiatric unit, drug and alcohol rehabilitation unit and outpatient alcohol and drug treatment program. Prior to coming to Via Christi Behavioral Health, Dr. Burch worked in community mental health. His clinical interests include substance abuse, psychotic disorders, panic disorders, Asperger's Disorder, and projective testing. Dr. Burch provides individual, family and group psychotherapy along with conducting psychological assessments. He can also provide Christian counseling upon request.
Steven Mayhew, PhD, ABPP completed his doctorate from the University of Missouri-Columbia and has been licensed as a psychologist since 1986. He is board-certified by the American Board of Professional Psychology (ABPP) and is licensed as a psychologist in Kansas and Iowa. He is certified at the national level as a Health Service Provider in Psychology. Dr. Mayhew has worked in family practice, community mental health and multi-specialty medical clinics. Dr. Mayhew's clinical interests include psychopharmacology, depression, and evaluation and treatment of attention- deficit/hyperactivity disorder (ADHD).
Tara Fleck, MS, LMLP completed her graduate degree in Clinical Psychology at Pittsburg State University. She worked at Labette Center for Mental Health Services before transferring to Via Christi Behavioral Health in 2011. Tara received clinical training in inpatient psychotherapy at the Stephens Behavioral Unit and outpatient psychotherapy at the Ozark Center. Tara's clinical interests include depression, anxiety disorders, adjustment disorders, and personality disorders. She provides individual, group, and family psychotherapy to adults and adolescents and also enjoys conducting psychological assessments.
Josie Welch, MS, LMLP completed her graduate degree in Clinical Psychology at Pittsburg State University. Her clinical training and prior employment was providing psychotherapy in community mental health centers. Josie provides individual and family psychotherapy and psychological assessment. Her clinical interests include depression, bipolar disorder, anxiety disorders, and working with adolescents and adults.
Sarah Kliewer, MS is the Office Manager at Via Christi Behavioral Health and has been with the organization since 2001. She received a Master's degree in Psychology from Pittsburg State University in 2000.
