The health care center at Via Christi Village has established a tradition of personal and professional excellence since 1969, when it opened as College Hill Nursing Center. In 1990, College Hill was purchased by the Sisters of St. Joseph of Wichita and renamed St. Joseph Senior Community. The name was changed to St. Joseph Village with the opening of the new campus in December of 2003. In April of 2010, it changed to Via Christi Village Manhattan, Inc.
The Village Courts provide a comprehensive range of medical, social and personal services designed to meet the needs of residents. The health care center has 84 private rooms and 12 semi-private rooms licensed by the State of Kansas.
The design of the health center provides as much natural light and plant life as possible. A number of community living areas increase opportunities for socialization. Each court features 12 private rooms and two semi-private rooms centered around a community living/dining room opening onto an outside patio or balcony area.
Coded keypad entrances help assure the safety and security of residents, while allowing free access by friends, family and staff.
The Village nursing center is certified by Medicaid and Medicare and provides skilled health care services.
