A Tradition Of Excellence

The health care center at Via Christi Village in Hays provides a comprehensive range of medical, social and personal services designed to meet the needs of residents. The health care center has 96 beds licensed by the State of Kansas. The health care center strives to offer quality service in a pleasant environment for all residents.

Individualized Care...

Nursing - The nursing staff is caring, highly trained, and dedicated to delivering the finest care available in the field of gerontological nursing. Licensed nurses, restorative aides, certified medication aides and certified nursing assistants are available at all times.

Therapies - Restorative services include physical, occupational and speech therapists who develop individual plans for residents, maximizing strengths and function with the ultimate goal of independence and wellness.

Social Services - offers support and counseling to the resident and family members. Family and friends enjoy the convenience of open visiting hours. Lounge areas are available for visits.

Activities - brings the community to the residents, as well as taking the resident to the community. Daily Mass, exercise programs, games, musical events and crafts are some of the activities offered at the Village. Outings to local restaurants, parks and shopping areas are provided for those able to participate. A specially equipped van with a wheelchair lift is available to offer transportation. All residents are encouraged to share in the varied cultural and social activities and programs.

Dietary - offers excellent food within the parameters of dietary restrictions by attending physicians. Between meal nourishments are also available. Nutritional health is recognized as a vital part of the wellness program.

Housekeeping, Laundry and Maintenance - are important members of the health care "family," working together to make resident life in the health care center one of dignity and pride.
