Heart Valve Clinic at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis
The Heart Valve Clinic at Via Christi Hospital St. Francis in Wichita, which opened in August 2013, provides the expertise of a team of specialists who care for patients with cardiac valve disease. The team, which includes structural cardiologists and cardiovascular surgeons, works with a patient’s primary care physician to determine the best course of care for each patient.
The clinic is the first of its kind in south-central Kansas. It is equipped to work with patients who have cardiac valve disease , especially those with complicating conditions such as advanced age, co-morbidities or prior history.
The multispecialty team offers evaluation and treatment for conditions including:
- Aortic stenosis
- Mitral stenosis
- Mitral regurgitation
- Pulmonary stenosis
- Complex coronary artery disease
Treatment options include:
- Traditional surgery
- Minimally invasive surgery
- Hybrid procedure (minimally invasive valve surgery with simultaneous percutaneous intervention)
- Balloon valvuloplasty
- Percutaneous valve repair

Park on the second floor of the parking garage of the hospital on St. Francis. There is handicapped and reserved outpatient parking.
Go to the sliding glass doors into the building. Once you are through this walkway, you will find a bench where you can rest and a phone on the wall which rings directly to our transportation staff.
Tell the transportation staff you have an appointment in the Valve Clinic and they will bring you to our area promptly.
