With a 30% growth in the Medical Staff in the past two years, both Via Christi and Pittsburg are becoming known as great places to practice medicine and call home.
Pittsburg is a university community of 26,000 residents, including 7,000 students. Boasting a high quality of life and a broad selection of year-round outdoor recreational activities, Pittsburg is only a two-hour drive to major metropolitan areas. Both the public and parochial schools are a part of award winning educational systems.
Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg is a not-for-profit healthcare facility located on a 79-acre campus. The five-story 188-bed medical center is the focal point of comprehensive medical services for the people of southeast Kansas and the bordering areas in southwest Missouri and northeast Oklahoma.
Having completed a $16.5 million expansion and renovation, the hospital features a new Emergency and Occupational Health Department, a Regional Heart Center as well as expanded Surgery, Pharmacy, Laboratory and Radiology Departments.
