PACE Race

The PACE® Race was inspired by the success of our program and Therapy Department in helping those we serve overcome and/or live with physical limitations. This arena allows us to celebrate these successes and celebrate being active. The event also includes a Via Christi HOPE participant walk following the 5K; giving those we serve a chance to celebrate their accomplishments.

The PACE Race is designed to raise awareness for local PACE services and to celebrate the accomplishments achieved by local PACE participants. Following the race the Bistro at Riverbend will host a pancake feed for race participants. The cost of the pancake feed is included in your registration fee ($25 per person, or $22 per person for a team of eight or more). For anyone not registered for the race, pancake feed tickets may be purchased for $3.

Prizes will be given to the top three males and females in each age group. There will also be team prizes for the fastest team and the largest team. To register as a team, you must have eight or more members and team registrations must be turned in together.

About Via Christi HOPE

Via Christi HOPE is a program designed to help Sedgwick County residents, age 55 and over, get access to care and services to help them remain living independently in the community for as long as possible. HOPE serves those who, from a functional standpoint, would qualify for long-term care, but are still able to live in their own homes.

Our goal is to work with them, and their caregivers, to help them continue doing so. HOPE provides medical care and social services, including primary and specialty medical care, medication management, physical and occupational therapy, medical transportation, a day center and more. The program is funded through Medicare, Medicaid, and private pay. Via Christi HOPE represents a national model of care, PACE (Program of All-inclusive Care for the Elderly), which is the inspiration for the event title, PACE Race.
