The cross was placed onto the St. Johns of Hays Kansas new building on August 31, 2011. Part of Via Christi Villages, St. John's is gaining a 96-bed skilled nursing facility, a new chapel and an updated roofline on its original assisted living facility. The project will add 80,000-square-foot at a cost of $14 million.
