Every year, 50,000 sick and injured Kansas children and their families receive much needed help with care-related expenses from Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals at Via Christi Health.
You can see the stories of four such families by watching CMN Hospitals telethonin the video above.
The 30-minute video, produced by Via Christi Marketing and Communications staff, aired alongside national telethon programming in June.
The video includes interviews with Via Christi Health staff and scenes shot at the NICU at Via Christi Hospital on Harry and ChildLife Center at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis.
But the highlights of the video are the stories of families helped by CMN Hospitals:
The Berkley family whose 5-year-old son, Carter, has a rare condition that causes involuntary, shocklike muscle contractions
The Atkeson family, whose 15-year-old son Elijah, has serious, ongoing seizures and related disabilities.
The Bertrand family, whose 8-year-old autistic and diabetic daughter needs a specially trained service dog that can sense when her blood sugar levels are too high or too low.
The Tyson family, whose three children all have hearing loss and require expensive hearing aids
