Via Christi Health’s hospitals in Pittsburg and Wichita have received 79 patients injured by the tornado that hit Joplin, Mo., and the surrounding area on Sunday.
Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis has received three patients. Two patients were transported by air from the Joplin/Springfield, Mo., area, one who is in serious condition and one who is in critical condition and has yet to be identified. The other patient came from Parsons by ground transport and is in serious condition.
Via Christi Hospital in Pittsburg has received 76 patients, 30 of whom have been admitted. Anyone trying to locate a patient there should call 620-231-6100.
The hospital is helping coordinate drop-off locations for clothing and hygiene kits for people affected by the tornado as well as for the patients they’ve received.
