Mercy Regional Health Center

A written order from a physician, physician assistant or nurse practitioner is required for all laboratory testing.

Our services include:

  • Blood bank
  • Autologous services
    • We offer autologous donation services that allow patients — with a doctor's order — to donate blood for themselves prior to certain procedures. This process requires at least a two-week preparation, as well as a scheduling process.
  • Chemistry
  • Coagulation
  • Hematology
  • Microbiology
  • Serology
  • Virology
  • Urinalysis

What to Expect
Testing Preparation. When you schedule your test, your doctor should give you any special pre-test instructions, such as fasting. If you have questions about these requirements, please ask your physician or contact us.

Check-In. Depending on when you arrive, you may check in at Outpatient Admissions, or in the Emergency Department. Admissions will notify the lab that you have arrived.

Samples. A lab assistant will take you to a drawing room where an appropriate specimen will be collected.

Testing. Once testing is complete, results will be generated.

Test Results. Your test results will be sent to the ordering physician. The majority of test results are generated in-house and are typically sent to the physician the same day. Feel free to ask your lab assistant whether your test results will be produced in-house. Your physician will contact you with your results.
