Laboratory Services

Approximately 90 percent of all testing ordered on patients at Mercy Regional Health Center is performed by Clinical Laboratory Services. Our full-service laboratory is staffed round the clock by medical technologists and lab assistants with a wealth of training and experience. The lab is also committed to providing community health screens for employees, the local fire department and the local police.

Our blood products are provided by the American Red Cross Central Plains Region in Wichita, Kansas.

Accreditation
Our testing is held to a strict code of excellence and accuracy by several accrediting organizations that perform regular inspections of our facilities.

•  Accredited by the Healthcare Facilities Accreditation Program (HFAP), the laboratory is inspected on a two-year cycle as required by the Clinical Laboratory Improvement Act of 1988.
•  The blood bank is also accredited by the AABB — formerly the American Association of Blood Banks — and the U.S. Food and Drug Administration, both of which inspect the Blood Bank on a two-year cycle.
