Via Christi Hospital in Wichita is ranked No. 1 in Kansas for Overall Cardiac Services for 2010 by HealthGrades, an independent hospital quality ratings company.

HealthGrades also granted Via Christi Five-Star ratings in Treatment of Heart Attack for four years in a row (2007-2010), for Treatment of Heart Failure for two years in a row (2009-2010), for Cardiology Services (2010) and Valve Replacement Surgery (2010).

The Medical Center's Cardiac Rehabilitation Program has met the strict standards established by the American Association of Cardiovascular and Pulmonary Rehabilitation, earning three-year national certification in 2008.

The Chest Pain Center at Via Christi Hospital on St. Francis has received full Cycle III Chest Pain Center accreditation from the Society of Chest Pain Centers — making it the first hospital in Kansas to successfully undergo review under the newest and most stringent standards.

Via Christi was the first in the area to offer open heart surgery and other advanced procedures. Today it is the site of the state's largest heart program.
