The NewLife Center at Via Christi Hospital, 3600 E. Harry
When you're having a baby you want the privacy, special touches and caring support of a freestanding birth center. But you also want access to all the technology and specialists that might ever be needed. Our NewLife Center gives you both. It spans the entire fourth floor, creating the feeling of a freestanding center. But it's a comfortable place even for women with very high-risk pregnancies. Our caring, experienced, family-friendly staff will be there for you before, during and after the birth.
Staffed by highly skilled nurses dedicated to providing family-centered care, the NewLife Center has 15 spacious and attractively decorated Labor and Delivery Suites. Each is designed to provide an intimate and comfortable environment for you and those with whom you choose to share your birth experience.
Each room also is equipped with the technology necessary to provide a safe labor, birth and recovery for you and your baby. And because we believe every birthing center should be equipped to handle the unexpected, state-of-the-artsurgical suites and a Level III Newborn Intensive Care Unit are just steps away.
After your baby is born, you'll move to one of our large, well-appointed Mom and Baby Suites, where the queen-size beds and attractive Thomasville bedroom furniture create the pampering atmosphere of a posh hotel. You'll even be able to order a tasty meal from our room service menu.
The NewLife Center care team is highly experienced and specially trained to care for moms and babies through every phase of labor, birth, recovery and preparation to return home.
The NewLife Center is prepared for even the most complicated pregnancies and births, with obstetric physician specialists and staff trained in obstetrical and critical care for high risk pregnant mothers and premature or ill newborns.
Birth plans allow expectant moms to plan in advance what sort of pain relief they'd like during childbirth, whether they'd like like silence or soft music, or be alone with their partner during the actual birth or have other family or friends present.
