Skip Hidlay named executive director, communications
WICHITA, Kan. (Aug. 22, 2011) – William “Skip” Hidlay has been named executive director of communications for Via Christi Health. He will begin his duties on Aug. 28. He has served as a consultant at Via Christi for the past three months.
Hidlay spent his previous career in the newspaper industry, where he served in executive leadership positions at several newspapers in New Jersey before joining the Wichita Eagle as president and publisher from March 2010 to May 2011.
Prior to working at the Eagle, Hidlay served as president and publisher of the Courier News in Somerville and the Home News Tribune in East Brunswick, New Jersey. He also served as executive editor and vice president/news of the Asbury Park Press, and executive editor of the Courier-Post in Cherry Hill. He also spent a decade as an editor and reporter for The Associated Press in Chicago, New York, Miami and other locations.
Hidlay serves on the boards of the Wichita Art Museum, the Wichita Technology Corp., the Greater Wichita Sports Commission and the Wichita Community Foundation.
Via Christi Health, a Catholic-sponsored ministry affiliated with Marian Health System and Ascension Health, is the largest provider of health care services in Kansas.
