June 28, 2011 (Wichita, KS) — Wichita Clinic has provided multi-specialty medical care to Kansas patients for over 60 years. As part of an ongoing effort to provide a more integrated approach to health care for patients, Wichita Clinic has joined Via Christi Health and is now being renamed Via Christi Clinic. This new association improves patient care by connecting Via Christi Clinic physicians with Via Christi Health’s dedicated network of caregivers and hospitals.
The legal name change is effective on Wednesday, June 29. Via Christi Clinic employees have already received new name badges and new exterior signage will soon appear at each location to reflect the new name and association with Via Christi Health. One of Wichita Clinic’s busiest locations at 1947 Founders’ Circle will undergo the first sign change. Employees will gather for a photograph at 12:15 pm today around the Wichita Clinic signage that has been removed as well as the Via Christi Health signage that will be put in place at 12:30 pm. An ambulatory surgery center and a medical office building are both located at this site where 29 surgeons see patients and provide outpatient surgery services.
While Via Christi Clinic has a new name and a new website address (viachristiclinic.com), the organization’s commitment to providing quality health care to Kansans remains unchanged. Patients may continue to see their current doctor and will still have a choice of hospitals. Insurance coverage and out-of-pocket costs for patients will not change. A list of answers to some frequently asked questions is attached.
Established in 1947, the multi-specialty group formerly known as Wichita Clinic was acquired by Via Christi Health in 2010. The organization presently has 13 locations in Kansas and the Wichita metropolitan area. More than a half million patient visits were made to Via Christi Clinic in 2010. Via Christi Clinic currently operates in Sedgwick, Harvey and Butler counties.
