WHF Mission Statement
The Mission of the Wamego Health Center Foundation is to support Wamego Health Center in achieving excellence in medical services. As a non-profit organization, the Foundation provides the ability to solicit and accept gifts from individuals and organizations to ensure quality healthcare to those we serve.
The Wamego Hospital Foundation is a non-profit organization and all donations are tax-exempt per 501 (c) (3) of the federal tax laws.
The Foundation operates within the guidelines as set out in the Articles of Incorporation and Bylaws. The Foundation is governed by a Board of Directors approved by the Wamego City Hospital Board of Trustees.
The purpose of the Wamego Hospital Foundation is to raise funds to support Wamego City Hospital and quality healthcare. Communities in the hospital's service area besides Wamego, include Westmoreland, Flush, St.George, Alma, Paxico, Belvue, and Frankfort.
The Wamego Hospital Foundation was originally established in 1987 and restarted in 2000. The Foundation is currently served by a nine-member board, an executive director, and a number of active volunteers.
The Foundation supports Wamego City Hospital in the following ways:
• Renovation and expansion
• Equipment and furnishings
• Employee training/education
The funds needed to support healthcare are raised through a variety of ways:
• Annual giving
• Capital campaigns
• Planned giving
• Special events
Working together - foundation, hospital employees, volunteers, community members, area businesses - we have been able to impact quality healthcare in a meaningful way.
Since 2000, the foundation has raised over $750,000. We have given over $300,000 toward the $1.2 million Patient Room Construction project completed in 2008, $200,000 in equipment and furnishings, and $7,000 in employee training and education.

The Board meets quarterly - January, April, July, October - on the third Thursday of the month, 11:00 - 12:30 at Wamego City Hospital, 711 Genn Dr., Wamego, KS.
You can support quality healthcare in your community by volunteering at the hospital, the foundation office, or helping with special events. Volunteers are great people who bring many skills they have learned. We work at matching a volunteer's interest and skills with the needs of the hospital or event.
