Sheridan Village is a cooperative effort between the Congregation of St. Joseph and Via Christi Villages. The new senior housing complex is situated on the southern edge of the Mount St. Mary campus, at 1051 S. Bluffview.
Sheridan Village features 66 one-bedroom apartments, each consisting of 540 square feet. Innovations in design provide for an expansive living area. The Village also provides a library, dining area, and commons areas to promote socialization.
Rent is based on 30 percent of each resident's income, which may vary depending on individual circumstances. All residents must be at least 62 years old.
The housing complex is an outgrowth of the Sisters' CSJ "Dear Neighbor" Ministries and their work in the revitalization of the Hilltop neighborhood. Sheridan Village has been widely endorsed by area churches, associations and other nonprofit organizations working together to serve the neighborhood. The addition of the complex will fill a housing void for many seniors in the area.
Via Christi Villages and the Sisters of St. Joseph have extensive experience in the development of service programs and other links to providers and additional community resources. Residents of Sheridan Village not only benefit from that expertise, but enjoy living in a peaceful country setting only minutes from restaurants, retail outlets and medical care.
