VolunTeen Opportunities
Below are descriptions of just a few of our openings. Once you apply, we can talk about where you'll fit in the best. There are lots of places where you'll be able to help!

Information Desk
This is the location where everything is happening! If you want to stay active and help patients and visitors, this is the place for you. Located right inside the front entrance of the hospital, you'll welcome patients and visitors to Mercy Regional, answer any questions they might have, and assist them to areas in the hospital.

Birth & Women's Center
You'll serve as a resource for visitors by greeting them, directing them and answering questions. Our volunteers offer a lot of assistance to the many families that come in and out of the Birth & Women's Center each day.

Mail Delivery
You will visit all areas throughout the hospital and interact with staff, patients and visitors. Responsibilities include sorting mail and delivering to departments and patients.

Library Cart
You'll deliver reading items to patients and visitors, and keep waiting areas stocked with resource materials.

"I've been in the VolunTeen program for three years. In my freshman year, I was looking for ways to help out and contribute. I was five years old when my family came to this country and so many people helped us, I wanted to give back.

"I work in the Birth & Women's Center. It's been a great experience, helping nurses, patients and visitors with their needs.

"People my age have so many events and activities. VolunTeens is such a great program because it's mostly over the summer so it accommodates my schedule. All of my friends do some sort of service and it would be great to see more young people participate."
