Medication

When you are admitted, your doctor or nurse will review the medications you have been taking at home. It is important to discuss these medications, including vitamins, diet aids, any over-the-counter drugs, and herbal products. It is very helpful to healthcare providers for you to bring a list of your current medications. Often times your physician’s office or your pharmacy can provide this medications list.

All personal medication brought in by you or your family is to be sent home with a family member or sent to the pharmacy for storage until discharge. By special order from your physician, you may use your own bulk medication such as eye drops, inhalers, ointments and creams.

Alcohol/Unauthorized Drugs
The use of alcohol or drugs not ordered by your doctor is not allowed in the hospital. Using such substances could delay your recovery or cause serious problems with your health.
